Serves:
1
Ingredients:
1 6-ounce can frozen concentrated lemonade
1 6-ounce can frozen concentrated orange juice
2 1/2 cups water
1 cup granulated sugar (we use half as much)
8 ounces fresh or frozen strawberries
3 bananas, peeled and sliced
1 6-ounce can pineapple chunks
Ingredients substitutions:
We replace the strawberries with 1 1/2 to 2 cups frozen mixed berry medley from the grocery store.
Steps:
1. Combine lemonade, orange juice, water, and sugar in a large bowl.
2. Add the fruit and stir to combine.
3. Spoon the mixture into 9-ounce clear plastic cups.
4. Freeze cups for at least 1 hour before serving.
Note: If frozen solid, set out for 15 to 20 minutes before serving so the fruit cups are still "icy" but thawed enough to eat with a spoon.
What makes this recipe special?
This was a summer favorite during my childhood. They're simple to make and are an easy dessert to keep on-hand in the freezer. You can adjust any of the ingredients or quantities to your liking.
