As part of RTI's 60th Anniversary celebration and as an extension of our mission, RTI staff around the world are participating in 60 Minutes of Global Good community volunteer activities. Although many of the 60 Minutes of Global Good volunteer activities occurred in June, staff members are volunteering through September.

May 30, 2019 - Guatemala City: RTI Guatemala City celebrated 60 Minutes of Global Good with the recipients of RTI’s 2019 Community Partnerships Awards, Fundacion Margarita Tejada for persons with Down Syndrome.

RTI staff members package 25,056 meals to help eliminate hunger

June 3, 2019 - Research Triangle Park: On Monday, June 3, RTI staff in RTP donated their services to help eliminate global hunger by packaging meals for Rise Against Hunger.

RTI Waltham Assembles Snack Packs for the Boys and Girls Club

June 18, 2019 - Waltham: The Waltham office celebrated 60 Minutes of Global Good on July 18, 2019, by assembling 200 snack packs for the Boys and Girls Club of Lowell. They worked with their local United Way, which continues to fight for the financial stability and educational success of every person in the community.

Atlanta Regional office partners with Lost-n-Found Youth for 60 Minutes of Global Good

June 20, 2019 - Atlanta: The Atlanta office teamed up with Lost-n-Found Youth for 60 Minutes of Global Good. Lost-n-Found Youth is an Atlanta-based nonprofit (501c3) that works to end homelessness for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ+) and all sexual minority youth. Sandhya Joshi coordinated the Atlanta office’s service activity of donating snacks and assembling two weeks’ worth of food packs, which will be distributed to youth through Lost-n-Found’s street outreach and at their Youth Center. Lost-n-Found Youth’s volunteer coordinator, Ashley Robinson, joined staff for lunch and Pride cupcakes on June 20 to share information about Lost-n-Found services and volunteer opportunities.

RTI Fort Collins Sorts Children's Clothing, Creates Care Kits for Homeless

June 27, 2019 - Fort Collins: The Fort Collins office celebrated 60 Minutes of Global Good on June 27, 2019, by sorting children's clothing and creating foot care kits for the homeless and near-homeless. They worked with local nonprofit organization Homeward Alliance, and RTI President and CEO Wayne Holden joined the team for the event.

Families Together and RTI Research Operations Center Partner for 60 Minutes of Global Good

July 23, 2019 - Research Operations Center (ROC): The Research Operations Center (ROC) in Raleigh, NC, celebrated 60 Minutes of Global Good on July 23, 2019, by assembling hygiene kits for teens in Families Together, an organization that serves families experiencing homelessness with urgent sheltering. They worked with their local United Way, which continues to fight for the financial stability and educational success of every person in the community.

RTI DC Staff Come Together to Package Meals for Rise Against Hunger

August 6, 2019 - Washington, D.C.: The Washington, D.C., office celebrated 60 Minutes of Global Good on Aug. 6, 2019, by packaging meals for Rise Against Hunger, an international hunger relief organization that distributes food and life-changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable, mobilizing the necessary resources to end hunger by 2030.

RTI Nairobi partners with Mukuru Promotion Centre to mentor students, plant trees

Septmber 21, 2019 - Nairobi: RTI staff from the Africa Regional Office, Kenya Crops and Dairy Project, Kenya TUSOME Project and KYES Projects partnered with Mukuru Promotion Centre (MPC) to mentor students and plant trees at the MPC.

Black Employees Resource Group in RTP donates 130 pairs of shoes to Soles4Souls

August 12, 2019 - Research Triangle Park: Organized by the Black Employees Resource Group, RTI staff donated more than 130 pairs of new or gently used shoes in support of Soles4Souls – a non-profit social enterprise that creates sustainable jobs and provides relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing around the world.

RTI Rockville packages meals for the homeless

July 17, 2019 - Rockville: Staff from RTI's Rockville office assembled meal packages for residents of the Seneca Heights Apartments, a permanent supportive housing complex for formerly homeless individuals and families.
